Sociology AS/A2 Level 3

The course aims to give students a sound understanding of current sociological ideas, concepts and knowledge. Students will also gain an understanding of sociological methods of research and will develop skills to enable them to participate effectively in adult life. The main topics studied for the AS examination are family, education and sociological methods of research In the second year of the course students study sociological theories, methods of research and social stratification and/or crime and deviance. There is no coursework and final external assessment is by examination at both AS and A Level.
