Classical Civilisation aims to develop an understanding of the foundations of our society, through the literature, sculpture, architecture, history, politics and beliefs of ancient times. Candidates will explore human thinking and the origins of many of our society’s forms of expression, using a variety of texts including books, photographs, DVD, TV and the Internet. The subject builds on skills and concepts developed through Literature and History. It develops critical and philosophical thinking through reading, researching, discussion and independent work.
