Art and Design GCSE (AQA)

In Art you will work in many different media including: oil and acrylic painting, drawing, etching, printing, mixed media, textile batik and ceramics. You will research art history, develop your I.T. and communication skills through the creation and maintenance of your own blog to record and evidence your work. The artists experience will be enhanced through art field trips to galleries and museums.

Name: Art and Design GCSE (AQA) Qualification title: Art and Design GCSE (AQA) Qualification type: GCSE or equivalent Assessment Your examination at the end of Year 11 will consist of a month long preparation period leading to a 10 hour piece of work completed in school over two full days. This will count as 40% of your final GCSE grade; the remaining 60% will be a portfolio of coursework (generally three projects) from Years 10 and 11. In Year 11 you will be strongly encouraged to develop a personalized approach to you work when you will develop a range independent research skills.
