This course is for those who wish to pursue a career in bricklaying. The NVQ (or work based recorder) is a log of specific work carried out on site and can consist of reports, photographs, peer reports, drawings, diagrams etc. Site assessment visits will be carried out by tutors and the work based recorder. The diploma provides the underpinning knowledge for the practical work as well as practical assessments of brick models in the college workshops. There are also unit tests throughout the 2 year course. There is an end of 2nd year external on-line examination as well as a health and safety examination, both of which must be passed before the diploma is achieved.
