With the help of the Academy of Finance we are delivering a complete course of study that enables you to prepare for employment in the business or financial service industries either after A Level study or university study. The whole ethos of this scheme is to prepare you for careers in all areas of business and the financial services sector. Students enrolled on the course will be visiting large financial providers within Leeds to acquire knowledge from industry experts rather than just receiving traditional classroom lessons. To give us the flexibility to do this, students wishing to study on the academy will only be allowed to select the following courses: BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business Studies (equivalent to two A Levels) - this is assessed purely through portfolio work and will give you a general grounding in the principles of Business Studies. You will also take part in a six week paid internship which will count towards your assessment. OCR Nationals in ICT (equivalent to one A Level) - you will be studying Digital Business Communication, Collaborative Working, Problem Solving and Creating a Digital Showcase. This course is also centre assessed with no timetabled examinations Internship Students will also complete a paid internship at a company associated with either ICT, Finance or Business.
