The college's BTEC Extended Diploma in Performing Arts (Musical Theatre) offers you a professional, diverse, interactive and exhilarating learning experience where you will develop and excel in all elements of performance including: dance technique (urban, jazz, ballet, contemporary) acting skills, use of voice, choreography, body conditioning, use of media, production and directing and rehearsal techniques. The course is equivalent to three A-levels and is suitable for those who have a passion for performance and for those who wish to progress into a field within the arts. The aim of the course is to provide you with industry-standard teaching which will prepare you for the working world. It will consist of mostly practical sessions, with most theory being embedded. It will enable you to learn through watching, practising and reviewing your development. You will focus upon the practical skills of the performer such as: •Dance, acting and vocal techniques •Performing to audiences •Character dance and characterisation through movement •Marketing and entrepreneurial development •Theoretical appreciation of productions past and present.
