How did the coalition government come into being? What is the threat to the UK from terrorism? Why is the mass media so important to politicians? Discuss some of the world’s most debated questions whilst exploring your own political views. This course is recommended for career pathways into Law. •Answering questions like: •Why did the government join the USA in the war against Iraq, and was it right to do so? •What should be done about crime with those who commit it? •What are my own political views and what party are they closest to? •An examination of the role television and the media play in politics, with lots of discussions, debates and videos •Enrichment activities, like a trip to Washington D.C in the USA if there is sufficient demand •The opportunity for some students to participate in a week-long work experience programme at the House of Commons in London, if there is sufficient demand.
