Cards, crackers and carols; these are all things which we associate with Christmas - but, how have these traditions evolved? In these sessions we will explore how Christmas celebrations have changed over the centuries, including why they were 'banned' in the 17th century. We will focus especially on the Victorian Christmas, comparing how different people celebrated, from the Palace the Workhouse and we will be recreating the Victorian Christmas tradition of gift presentation and tree decoration by making our own Victorian Christmas tree decorations, greetings cards, gift boxes and bags.
