The AS units are: Planning and financing a business - looking at starting a small business and the financial planning needed for a successful start up. 1hour 15 minutes. Short answer questions and extended responses based on a case study. (40% of AS / 20% of A-Level). Managing a business – looks at the four main departments of a business – Finance, People, Operations Management and Marketing and everyday business decisions. 1hour 30 minutes. Data response questions. (60% of AS / 30% of A-Level). The A2 units are:Strategies for success – taking the AS units further to include case studies and ratio analysis. 1 hour 45 minutes. (25% of A-Level). The business environment and managing change – this examination is in two parts, firstly a question based upon prior research and the second part is to choose an essay title and use all knowledge gained to answer it. 1 hour 45 minutes. (25% of A-Level).
