AS level: Coursework is 60% of your marks – you will produce a body of work that will include experimenting with a wide range of fibres and fabrics and improve technical skill. Through drawing, designing and manipulating materials you will explore issues in depth and find ways in which to express your ideas visually. Examination is 40% of your marks – this is an externally set assessment. You will have preparation time followed by an 8 hour examination. A2 level: Coursework is 60% of your marks – you will choose your own project to explore in depth and produce several finished textile pieces and a critical study, which will be part of the research done for the practical work.
