This new, two-year, full-time day course is one of the few direct-entry Level 3 programmes of study available in the UK, providing you with all the practical and technical skills needed to take the first steps to becoming an electrician. Many of our previous Level 3 students have found employment through direct entry on to the third year of Apprenticeship and several students have progressed on to further study, on an HNC, HND, or Foundation Degree, at Loughborough College. Mandatory units cover: electrical installation design environmental technology systems electrical science and principles electrical installation craft, inspection, and testing commissioning and diagnosing and correcting electrical faults. Optional units cover: overseeing and organising the work environment requirements of BS 7671: July 2015 small-scale solar photovoltaic systems The qualification also has integral health and safety in some of the units applicable to the topic being studied. As a full-time student, you will be put through CSCS card training and the Requirements for Electrical Installations IET Wiring Regulations (17th Edition) as part of your programme of study.
