This one-year, full-time course is aimed at those who want to develop and explore the business sector, whilst working to develop your business skills. You will gain an understanding of the world of business and the variety of business activities found both nationally and internationally. You'll learn about aspects of business such as finance, business communication, administration, and customer service. This course is a vocational qualification that provides an insight into how businesses operate; examining those involved in running a business, how businesses are organised and financed, and the importance of effective business communication. You will also look at how to set up your own business. This is a full-time course, which covers a wide variety of topics, including: finance for business branding sales and selling principles of marketing small business planning customer service communication in business legislation in relation to business project management business online GCSE English and/or Maths will be available alongside this course. You'll learn through a variety of different methods, including: tutor-led classroom teaching case studies based on information from real-life businesses whole-class discussions; in which you'll have the opportunity to express your own opinions and ideas about the topic group discussions; in a smaller group discussing key ideas and concepts We have links with many local employers and guest speakers who come in to College to demonstrate how businesses work in the real world.
