This 'Choosing Slow - Mindfulness Retreat Day' of mindfulness practice focuses on the mindful art of 'slowing down' to cultivate greater attention and awareness. The cult of speed is endemic and this can have negative consequences for both mind and body. On this retreat day we will learn why we are so driven by speed, and the 'how' of slowing down. Using mindfulness techniques, meditations, discussion and mindful movement, the day will give you the skills to start your journey towards the many benefits of both mental and physical slowing down. Simone Stolton from The Kent Mindfulness Centre will take you through the day. This course in Sittingbourne is suitable for anyone interested in mindfulness, meditation and improving attentiveness from absolute beginners to those with some prior experience. We advise anyone with a pre-existing medical condition to seek advice from their GP before exercising. Pregnant students should not attend classes until they are at least 16 weeks pregnant.
