Try Middle Eastern Dance

An introduction to the art of Middle Eastern belly dance. Learn basic steps, body and hand movements. Anyone with a reasonable level of fitness who wants to try out this enjoyable and energetic activity.

Entry requirements

You will need supportive, comfortable clothing that allows ease of movement. Formal trousers, skirts or dress are not suitable for this activity. Circle skirts can be worn. A scarf to tie round your hips is advantageous but not essential. You should wear shoes with a soft sole (ballet pumps are best or dance trainers), alternatively you could dance barefoot. Sandals, boots or any footwear with a high heel are not recommended. You may be advised not to take part if you are not dressed appropriately.
