Textiles - Beginners

, By the end of this course you should be able to: Use a work journal to research and develop project ideas. Select and use appropriate equipment, processes and materials to make textile work. Make links and references to other textile artists. Work to health and safety guidelines. Students who have some experience of textile processes. It is important to note that craft courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity.

Entry requirements

If you are a new student and have no materials please wait for your tutor's advice on what to buy. However, all students should bring an A4 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper, preferably with a hard cover and ring bound, and a variety of pencils. You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. Some of our centres have their own 'shops' where you are able to buy things at competitive prices. If you have any materials/equipment that might be appropriate please bring them with you.
