Guitar - Beginners

This course aims to build a solid foundation of knowledge for playing guitar from beginner's level or to continue to develop playing skills if you have completed the first course in the first term. Students will play simple pieces of music up to and including grade 1 level. The course will also cover some music theory, sight reading and techniques for playing guitar. By the end of the course you should be able to: Play technical exercises (including scales) at beginners level. Play pieces of music (individual, duet, ensemble) at beginners level. Understand and apply music theory at beginners level. Sight read music at beginners level. To benefit fully from this course, students are advised to practice the exercises and pieces in their own time. Beginners are welcome as well as those who completed the Beginners course in the Autumn Term.
