Creative Writing - Summer Scribes at Sevenoaks - Tuesdays 12th, 19th & 26th July 2016, This course is designed to provide students with an opportunity to indulge their love of writing, over a concentrated three-day period, in the company of fellow writers, with whom they will be able to share and discuss their work in a safe and supportive environment. Using a wide variety of resources to inspire and stimulate writing, the course will enable students to explore different narrative techniques, styles and tones, and engage actively in the writing process. The course is designed to include some minor 'excursions' around the vicinity of Sevenoaks AEC, Any students with disabilities affecting mobility please inform us at time of enrolment so that appropriate arrangements can be made. By the end of this course, students will have, - Engaged actively in the writing process, - Created believable fictional characters and plots, - Explored some aspect of poetic form or technique, - Used writing as a form of recording, reporting and/or reflecting information, and should also be able to constructively evaluate their own and others' work This course involves reading and note taking, but also provides many opportunities to write creatively, imaginatively and informatively. Students who have completed the Creative Writing Introduction course. Anyone with some experience of creative writing or with a wide experience of reading. You will need reasonable familiarity with written and spoken English language. Students will need to: Understand the potential benefit from the programme of study. Read and interpret tasks. Communicate responses that are clear, logical and understandable. Manage their own time.
