On this course at Tonbridge Adult Education you can learn a variety of traditional and modern upholstery techniques, using upholstery tools and materials. Starting with stripping back your chosen piece of furniture, then webbing it, stuffing it and finally giving it lease of new life with a beautiful new top fabric and trim. During the course beginners will learn how to, , -Strip down a piece of furniture back to it's frame , -Select appropriate tools and use them safely, -Identify correct material for each stage of project, -Select correct tacks for each stage of project Improvers will work on a project of their choice suitable for their experience and develop the skills needed . A practical course for students to develop skills and work on projects of their own choice. Demonstrations and guidance on techniques will be given throughout the course. This course is suitable for beginners and those with some experience wishing to transform old pieces of furniture into a beautiful artefact with new life and looks It is important to note that craft courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity. If you need to bring a carer with you, or be accompanied by another person, please speak to a member of staff before enrolling
