Know Your Sewing Machine

This course will enable you to better understand your machine; why threading correctly is so important, understanding both top and bottom tensions, how each of the stitches works, zips, buttonholes, sewing with stretch fabrics, sizes and types of needles to use with each type of fabric, etc. The course will give you the confidence to use your machine more fully. The size of the group will be small to enable lots of individual guidance. By the end of this course you should be able to: - thread your machine correctly, - select and use different stitches and functions, - select the correct needle for the fabric, - be more confident to use your machine, - use your machine safely There is no qualification for this course. For those who wish to gain understanding of their sewing machine.

Entry requirements

Please bring your sewing machine, all attachments, feet and power leads, and a basic sewing kit (thread, scissors, pins, etc.). If there is any fabric you have difficulties sewing with or that you're not sure about, please feel free to bring it along. All other materials will be provided.
