Pastels and Charcoal

The course will introduce (or re-introduce) you to drawing with charcoal and soft pastels. Each week you will be given a specific exercise to accomplish, drawing from objects, other artists and a selection of pictorial material. Techniques will be demonstrated and you will be encouraged to experiment for yourself and find your own style. By the end of the course, you should be able to: - Demonstrate and understand relevant techniques . - Demonstrate successful use of relevant tools, equipment and resources , - Use appropriate methods to collect ideas, research and experimentation , - Successfully review and evaluate your own work, - Research and evaluate the work of others to inform your own work and development , - Be aware of and work to relevant Health and Safety guidelines There is no set 'homework', but you are welcome to practise and do further work at home. There is no qualification for this course. Beginners and those with a little experience.
