Active for Life - Line Dancing

During this Line Dancing course in Gravesend students will learn and perform a variety of American Line dancing routines. Students will also be told the health benefits of dance and the teaching will reflect the different fitness levels of individuals. By the end of this course you should be able to: - Identify specific steps for personal use outside of the class. - Identify two steps relating to specific routines. - Demonstrate up to four warm up movements. - Recount at least three ways in which exercises can benefit health and, wellbeing , - Perform routines independently. You will need to be able to follow verbal instructions, observe and copy physical movements and use spatial awareness within a group. Anyone interested in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The course has been designed for anyone over the age of 55 who would like to improve their fitness and health and enjoys group exercise classes.

Entry requirements

Please read the following information carefully. You may be advised not to take part if you are not dressed appropriately. You will need supportive, comfortable clothing that allows ease of movement. Restrictive denim jeans, formal trousers, shorts, skirts or dresses are not suitable for this activity. Supportive boots or trainers are needed to support the feet and ankles. Outdoor sandals, high heeled shoes or occasion boots are not appropriate for these classes. Please bring water and avoid eating one and a half hours prior to exercising.
