Walk Kent - Tunbridge Wells Group B

UPDATED 20151112 04:51:17

Join a series of guided walks which will introduce you to the wonderful world of the Weald. The walks are circular and 4 - 5.5 miles in length, usually within 18 miles of the main centre. They will help you to improve your fitness and broaden your knowledge of the local area. By the end of the course you will have increased your knowledge of where you live, be somewhat fitter, and will hopefully have made some good friends. You will need to make your own arrangements to get to each start point, which will usually be within 35 minutes of Tunbridge Wells. Sessions begin promptly at 10:00 am. Full details and a list of all the walks will be sent to you before your first class. However, if you enrol after the start date please contact the centre for the Walks List. At the end of the course students should feel more fit (as measured by a simple 'puff' test), and know more about the flora, fauna, history and topography of the Weald. Your learning will be monitored under four main headings: Local history and topography, The environment (including meterology, land and landscape management), Public Rights of Way law Anyone who is reasonably mobile and capable of walking between 4 and 5.5 miles. Many walks have stiles and other obstacles. No dogs please.
