Papier Mache - Further Techniques and Ideas

The course is designed to teach students further techniques for papier mache artforms and develop ideas and creative skills through a range of tutored workshops. Students will explore methods for transforming recycled paper and cardboard into teapots, furniture, sculptures and masks as well as many other items, plus exploring endless painting techniques and finishes. This course is informative, challenging and fun. Some projects may require some extra home work to complete stages. For those who have completed beginners papier mache courses or drawing and painting courses.

Entry requirements

First week - Students should bring an A4 sketchbook or notepad, plus pencil or pen. You will require a few basic materials including cardboard, newspaper/tissue, a craft knife, masking tape, PVA glue or wallpaper paste. Please do not buy any materials until you are sure that the course is running. The tutor will advise you of any further purchases at the start of the course.
