Sugarcraft - Improvers

This sugarcraft course in Sandwich builds on the techniques learnt in the previous Improvers courses.The course will focus on making a selection of wired spring sugar flowers including crocuses. You will then create a carved novelty cake to incorporate your wired flowers; for example a flower pot or pair of wellington boots. At the end of the course you should be able to: - make wired spring flowers including crocuses, - design and create a carved novelty cake to incorporate the wired spring flowers, - use all tools and equipment safely, This course in Sandwich is ideal progression for those who have completed the Sugarcraft Beginners course. You should be confident icing cakes, working with different icing mediums and using the basic sugarcraft equipment.

Entry requirements

Each week you will need to bring a notebook, pen, apron, camera/phone camera (if you have one) and anti-bacterial wipes. Students will need to purchase their own icings and materials and provide their own cakes and equipment. A list of the equipment needed will be sent to you about a week before the first lesson.The tutor will also advise you on equipment during the course and will recommend where it can be purchased.
