Drawing and Painting - Improvers

This course is designed to teach students the basic techniques to drawing and painting and develop confidence and skills through a range of weekly tutored workshops. New students are welcome at any time. Students will explore a range of exciting materials, colour creation, light and shade, as well as artistic styles, applying techniques and tips to landscape, still life and personal projects. This course will be informative, challenging and fun. Homework - There may be a short task set ( 1 hr) or students may wish to practise a technique . For beginners or those who just want to have a go.

Entry requirements

What do I need to bring with me?, First week - All students should bring an A3 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper and a variety of pencils (HB and 2B are ideal). During the course you will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. Please do not buy anything until you are sure the course is running and the tutor will advise you on further purchase at the start of the course.
