Active for Life - Gentler Boot Camp

UPDATED 20151112 02:45:07

The notion of the traditional Exercise Boot Camp does not appeal to all of us, especially those with health issues or who getting a bit older. This course is designed more as a gentle fitness class using a range of aerobic and non aerobic exercises and (perhaps more importantly), in the dry. Although the pace will be gentler than a full-on boot camp, the course will nevertheless encourage you to set fitness goals. You will need to be able to follow verbal instructions, observe and copy physical movements and be mobile enough to at least jog. on the spot. By the end of this course you should be able to: - Locate muscle groups, . Know your limits and how to extend them, - Practise cardiovascular moves, - Exercise independently with minimal guidance, - Identify specific exercises for personal use outside of the class. - Recount at least three ways in which exercises can benefit health and wellbeing throughout various life stages. To assist us in providing a safe and healthy environment for you to exercise you will be asked to complete a Confidential Health Questionnaire. If you have suffered from any of the conditions listed, please check with a medical practitioner to find out whether this course is suitable for you. - Do you ever have chest pain?, - Have you had any operations or injuries in the last year?, - Do you often feel faint or dizzy?, - Are you on long term medication?, - Do you have high or low blood pressure?, - Do you have a bone or joint problem, such as Arthritis, Osteoporosis, back or knee pain? The class will suit anyone who needs to begin getting a little fitter and can move independently. If you think you will need seated exercise, please ring 0845 606 5606 and ask to speak to the tutor.
