Jewellery Making

This course offers students of all abilities to practice all aspects of jewellery design and manufacture. You will learn melting, milling, soldering, finishing and polishing. Students can bring in their old jewellery to reuse to design and make a new piece. Beginners and those with experience. It is important to note that craft courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity. If you need to bring a carer with you, or be accompanied by another person, please ask to speak to the programme manager before you enrol.

Entry requirements

It is advisable to wear old clothing or bring an apron or lab coat, long hair must be tied back and open toe shoes must not be worn. Costs vary according to what you are making; silver and other metals and materials can be purchased from the tutor during the course. Silver for a plain ring would cost approximately £15/18. Do not buy anything especially for the course before the first session. Please bring along anything you already have that you think would be useful to the first session.
