Reflexology - Introduction

UPDATED 20151112 01:35:14

Learn about the ancient healing therapy of Reflexology on this 'hands-on' course. Reflexology works on the theory that all the body's organs and structures are mapped out on the feet (and hands) with specific reflex points on the feet relating to specific organs and areas of the body. The reflexologist treats these reflex points by various thumb and finger pressures with the aim of encouraging the corresponding organs and systems of the body to work more efficiently and in harmony together. The course will provide an introduction to the therapy and step-by-step guidance and instruction on how to give a relaxing foot massage and perform a general cleansing and overall body treatment reflexology routine on the feet. A further small number of specific reflex points may also be covered towards the end of the course, where possible linked to students' personal interest in particular conditions, provided students are confident and proficient in performing the cleansing routine. We will not be covering hand reflex points. The course will suit anyone who wishes to learn about reflexology in a relaxed and friendly environment; also anyone interested in complementary therapies, or students or therapists with experience in other therapies who wish to learn something new.
