Is this the right course for me? This class is for the complete beginner who wishes to learn ballet, or wishes to revise the basics after a long break from childhood to adulthood before progressing to a harder course. No experience is necessary. What will I learn? Basic barre work/stance Simple adage and port de bras (slow movements and arms) Petite allegro (basic steps) Grande allegro (basic jump) Small routines to co-ordinate movements How will I learn? Tutor demonstrations, discussions and information sheets where required - but largely you will learn through practical activities. Will I gain a qualification? No - this is a fun course and only an introduction to ballet. Examinations are available on higher courses. You will receive a certificate of attendance and achievement via the tutor and signed by Community Learning MK. What can I do next? Having spent several terms in this class as there is a lot to cover, you may wish to progress to a harder ballet class, or expand your dance knowledge and repertoire to Tap or Jazz Dancing
