Is this the right course for me? Yes - if you are a complete beginner to Ballroom and Latin American dance. You are welcome with or without a partner. We cannot guarantee that there will always be someone to dance with, but if you do not come with a partner you will be given the opportunity to try the dances with a partner at some time during each session. What will I learn? This will be a general social dance class in which you will be introduced to a variety of rhythms. The content of the course will depend largely on students' requests and will aim to cover as many basic sets of steps as possible, in a variety of dances such as tango, waltz, cha cha cha. How will I learn? You will practise steps demonstrated by the tutor and build them into dance sequences. Will I gain a qualification? You will be given the opportunity to take an amateur award with the International Dance Teachers Association. Otherwise you may receive a Certificate of Attendance and Achievement from your tutor. What can I do next? You will be able to enrol next term on the class at Beginners/Improvers level.
