Excel Level 1 - an Introduction

Is this the right course for me? You will need some basic computer skills to do this course - knowledge of keyboard, mouse and Windows. This short course will give you an overview of Excel spreadsheets, to 'have a go' before taking a longer or more advanced course. What will I learn about? Create a spreadsheet, enter text and numerical data Format cells and sheet Edit and format text and numbers Insert basic formulae (autosum, add, subtract, multiply, divide) Printing options Basic charts and graphs How will I learn? Through a combination of demonstrations and hands-on practice. You will also receive handouts to take away and study at home in your own time. Will I gain a qualification? You will not gain a formal qualification but you may receive a Certificate of Attendance from your tutor. What can I do next? If you would like to explore Excel further you can join the Improvers course before progressing onto a range of more advanced modules eg Formulas and Functions, Pivot Tables and Macros. There opportunities to achieve ITQ units in Excel at levels 1 & 2 at our Flexible Learning Centres.
