The study of A Level French will allow you to develop the knowledge and skills which you acquired at GCSE level and to experience the motivation and enjoyment of improving your linguistic level. It will help you to gain a useful insight into another culture. It will enhance your employment prospects and make foreign travel more satisfying. The topics studied at AS Level are: MEDIA - TV, advertising and communication technology POPULAR CULTURE - cinema, music and fashion trends HEALTHY LIVING - sport, exercise, health and wellbeing FAMILY AND RELATIONSHIPS - including friendships and marriage The topics studied at A2 Level are: ENVIRONMENT - pollution, energy and protecting the planet THE MULTI-CULTURAL SOCIETY - immigration, integration and racism CONTEMPORY SOCIAL ISSUES - wealth and poverty, law and order, scientific and technological progress A CULTURAL TOPIC OF YOUR CHOICE - the focus could be a region, a period of 20th Century history, an author, a dramatist or an artist. At both levels you will be assessed in listening, reading, writing and speaking.
