What is the AQA Baccalaureate? A qualification which recognises and celebrates the achievements of well rounded students with A-Levels and more. Students who have completed an Extended Project Qualification and have completed an AS in either General Studies, Critical Thinking or Citizenship and who will have completed 3 A Levels can also take part in the Baccalaureate scheme by demonstrating that they have taken part in enrichment activities throughout their course of study which can include; 1. Work Related Learning: Activities that involve students, as active participants, in learning about the world of work. 2. Community Participation: Activities in which students work for the benefit of others. 3. Personal Development: Activities that students choose to do in addition to their academic pursuits. Students need to participate and record their involvement in a minimum of 100 hours of enrichment activities across 2 or 3 of the enrichment core areas. We believe that it can be the “extras” that a student brings to the University, over and above their A level results, that secure them a place… it would appear that the AQA Bacc provides the depth of academic study that is necessary along with the breadth of thinking that we value. ” University of Birmingham
