A Level Media Studies will allow students to develop a wide range of transferable skills within analysis, theoretical exploration and creative production. They will be required in their AS coursework to work as part of a small group in order to research for and create a moving image piece according to a brief in the first year. This will be complemented by their own independent linked production piece (in form of either a webpage or print based design) and an analytical evaluation of both products. In A2, students build on their understanding of theories and issues within the media and conduct case study research into their own areas of interest. The course is one which provides a great wealth of experience across several skills sets; all of which will be of benefit for students going into university or straight into industry. A range of Educational Visits and opportunities outside the classroom are provided to enable students to have a holistic experience and to build on their learning in-class.
