The Media Studies A Level course involves in-depth study of such aspects of the media as film and broadcast fiction, documentary, electronic media and advertising and marketing. Students learn about the construction of identity of various groups and have plenty of opportunity to develop their creative skills. The course helps students to understand the importance of the media and its role in modern society.

Name: Media Studies A Level Qualification title: Media Studies A Level Qualification type: GCE A/AS Level or equivalent Assessment For the AS qualification, there will be a 2 hour examination, including a 1 hour 15 minute Unit 1 section A and a 45 minute section B, each carrying 25% of the AS marks. The remaining 50% are taken up by coursework. At A2, there will be a 2 hour examination, including a 1 hour Unit 3 section A examination and a 1 hour Unit 6 section B examination, each carrying 25% of the marks.
