Name: Government and Politics A level Qualification title: Government and Politics A level Qualification type: GCE A/AS Level or equivalent Assessment At AS Level there are three exam papers of 1 hour each: Unit 1 - Electoral Systems and Voting Behaviour - how do different elections work and why do people vote the way they do? Unit 2 - Parties and Pressure Groups - how are these organised and what issues concern them? Unit 3 - Features of a Representative Democracy - what is a democracy? Do we live in a democracy in Britain today? At A2 Level there are two exam papers of 1.5 hours and one paper of 2 hours: Unit 4 - A Comparison of the UK and USA Governments Unit 5, 6 or 7 - A choice between the Politics of the USA, Northern Ireland or Ideas in Contemporary British Politics.
