Horse Care Intermediate (Level 2) Apprenticeship

There are three main routes that you can follow in your apprenticeship, depending upon your interests, opportunities and experience: Riding Horse Care and Management Breeding Within these routes, you may choose to specialise. For example, you might work in a polo yard, a stud (breeding) or in a yard that offers riders specialist assistance with their development. The opportunities are many and varied - even if you do not wish to ride there is a career route for you to follow. What modules are covered in the diploma? You must complete seven mandatory Units. You will also choose additional Units from a further thirty optional Units, depending upon your career path. Your mandatory units: Clean and maintain stables Provide feed and water to horses Carry out routine care and monitor the health and well-being of horses Restrain horses using specified methods Monitoring and maintaining health and safety Maintain and develop personal performance Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Name: Horse Care Intermediate (Level 2) Apprenticeship Qualification title: Diploma in Work-based Horse Care and Riding (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment Apprentices will be visited regularly and assessed in the workplace by a highly qualified and experienced Assessor-Trainer. Our Assessor-Trainers work industry hours and will closely liaise with the Employer and Apprentice to plan visit. An Apprenticeship includes a variety of assessment methods, including; Observation, Professional Discussion, Product Evidence, Project/Assignment, Oral and Written Questioning, Witness Testimony and Video/Photographic/Digital Voice Recordings.
