AS Level At AS, all four skill areas are assessed, just like at GCSE, in 2 modules. Unit 1: Written paper (2hrs) - assessing listening, reading and writing Unit 2: Oral exam (15 mins + 20 mins prep.) The AS forms 50% of the total A level. The topic areas covered for AS are Media, Popular Culture, Healthy Living / Lifestyle, Family / relationships A2 Level Unit 3: Written paper - assessing listening, reading and writing (2hrs 30 mins) Unit 4: Oral exam (15 mins + 20 mins prep.) A2 topics are Environment, the Multicultural Society, Contemporary Social Issues
