Unit 1: Global Challenges Topic 1: World at Risk looks at Global Hazards and Climate Change Topic 2: Going Global looks at Globalisation, population and migration. Unit 2: Geographical Investigations Topic 1: Crowded Coasts looks at the human interaction with this pressurised zone. Topic 2: Rebranding places looks at the ways in which areas are re-imaged and regenerated. This unit involves fieldwork and research techniques. Unit 3: Contested Planet Topic 1: Energy Security Topic 2: Water Conflicts Topic 3: Biodiversity Under Threat Topic 4: Superpower Geographies Topic 5: Bridging the Development Gap Topic 6: The Technological Fix Unit 4: Geographical research This unit looks at Rural Leisure and Tourism. Students are required to research the topic and are given a pre-release focus 4 weeks before the exam.
