By the end of the course you will be able to: Identify the different parts of a computer Turn the computer on and off and load a simple program Use the mouse to move around the screen Use the keyboard to enter text Use desktop icons Play Solitaire Produce a picture in 'Paint' Save and print your work Enter a web address in Internet Explorer Use Google to search for information Add a website to your favourites This is a course for complete beginners. You do not need to bring anything with you but you might find a notebook and pen useful. There is no formal qualification for this Community Learning course. Why not join the IT Open session (every Friday 10 - 2) to practise your skills. You might want to follow on with courses such as Word: Introduction, Excel: Introduction, PowerPoint: Introduction, File management or Keep your PC/laptop running smoothly, depending on your personal interest.
