AS Level Unit 1: LT1 - Poetry and Drama Students are required to study post-1900 Poetry through a core text and develop their wider reading through a partner text. They also a study post-1990 play. The unit is usually examined in January of Year 12 Unit 2: LT2 - Prose Study and Creative Reading This is a coursework unit. Students are required to read widely and engage with a variety of prose texts and demonstrate a critical and perceptive approach to literature, becoming creative and independent writers. Students will produce a 3000 word folder of work, evenly shared between the two Prose study and Creative Reading elements. A2 Level Unit 3: LT3 - Period and Genre Study Students will produce a folder of approximately 3000 words, demonstrating an exploration of three texts, two of which must be of different periods and genres. Unit 4: LT4 - Poetry and Drama 2 This is an examined unit which requires the students to study and discuss, in detail, two core texts and to make wider reference to partner texts.
