UPDATED 20151110 09:17:20

In classroom sessions you will look at the Construction sector and gain an insight into the employment opportunities that are available. You will study Health & Safety to ensure that your working practices are safe. In the workshops you will develop the practical skills in a variety of areas. There will also be the opportunity to develop team building skills through sustainable project work. Maths and English are key elements of any full-time programme of study in College. If you do not already have a GCSE at grade A*-C in these subjects, you will need to attend sessions allocated on your timetable. These are varied and designed to cater for all ability levels. You will receive advice and guidance regarding the correct level for you. Learning on this course whether classroom or workshop based is through activity. In the workshop environment demonstrations will be provided to introduce skills, but learning will be through hands-on activity. Your learning will be extended to outside of the college with trips to local suppliers or construction sites and places of interest.
