General Studies is designed to complement other studies and will prove to be useful preparation for higher education, work and life in general. General Studies brings real value to a student's programme of study and enables students to develop a deeper understanding of important contemporary issues.

Course information

Name: AS/A2 Level General Studies Qualification title: AS/A2 Level General Studies Qualification type: GCE A/AS Level or equivalent Assessment At AS level, students are entered for 2 x 1 hour 30 minute modules. The examination consists of objective test questions and documentary source analysis questions. At A2 level, students are entered for 2 x 2 hour modules. These examinations consist of source evaluation exercises and structured essay questions. The Unit 4 exam is based around a pre-release case study. The examinations are sat in the summer term.
