AS DT - Textiles

This option gives students the opportunity to work in textiles in both fashion and design and home interiors, using a range of modern construction and decorative techniques to design specific products of their choice. Assessment Students sit a written paper in one of these areas. Coursework is flexible and portfolio work can include evidence from either area. Year 12 AS Outline Unit 1 (25%) – A written paper based primarily on Materials and Components – 2 hours Unit 2 (25%) – A portfolio consisting of design work including practical outcomes – 50 hours (approx).
