The L3 BTEC in Art and Design is a wide-ranging and exciting course, culminating in a self-directed Final Major Project and exhibition at the end of the 2 years. The course is flexible in meeting learners’ interests, abilities and aspirations, and provides a broad knowledge of art and design techniques, materials, and concepts. Students will be introduced to a range of specialist workshops across the following subjects: Graphic Design, 3D Design, Textiles, Ceramics, Photography, Painting and Drawing, Printmaking and Contextual studies. In the second year students will choose two specialist subjects which they feel will best prepare them for their own personal career path into University or Employment. Full engagement with the course will lead to the creation of exciting visual outcomes, reflecting the dynamic and creative nature of art and design.
