This unit taken from the L2 Providing Security Services qualification gives learners the knowledge and understanding of how to protect themselves and other from various situations in work. In this unit learners will learn how to; Describe the legal duties for an individual to ensure well-being and health and safety in the workplace as explained by relevant legislation, Describe the job role, including the responsibilities and limitations, Describe personal capabilities and limitations in terms of protection in potentially violent situations. Describe the importance of showing respect for people, their property and rights. Describe when it is appropriate and possible to maintain a safe distance and avoid physical contact. Maintain a calm, reassuring and professional attitude towards those presenting unacceptable behaviour. Maintain a safe distance and avoid physical contact. Avoid behaviour or language that may be discriminatory or oppressive when communicating with other people. Interpret simple body language and the importance of acknowledging other people’s personal space.
