The course requires students to work very closely with all client groups and to gain an understanding of the stages of life that require different health and social care. To prepare them for success in a health and social care environment, students will study communication skills and undertake self-evaluation. They will study government legislation in order to follow the policies and procedures required to foster positive relationships and environments in care settings. Students will also become familiar with healthy lifestyles, sociology, alternative therapies and the major factors that can have an effect on the community.
