This course is designed for learners of all abilities from the absolute beginners to those who wish to extend their existing patchwork or applique skills. You will be introduced to the most current trends and methods of constructing patchwork as well as being shown how to use traditional methods. What will I learn? Health and safety rules in the textile room. Safe use of patchwork tools and equipment Identify, select and prepare suitable fabrics and materials for patchwork and quilting projects Identify and practice construction of a variety of patchwork techniques Recognise and construct variety of traditional and contemporary patchwork blocks Recognise different styles of quilts Be able to use applique techniques creatively Quilt by hand or machine To make a project of your own choice To construct all items of patchwork or applique to a high standard
