The study of English Literature will include a variety of texts from different genres. The texts this year will range from Shakespeare's 'Othello' to Fitzgerald's 'The Great Gatsby'. There will be varied learning aids and work will be both independent and group based. Critical reading skills will be developed, to aid understanding of writing methods. This subject is challenging and will help develop reflective and independent reading; wider cultural experiences are included such as theatre visits and students should seek to participate in such opportunities as they arise.
