Design and Technology: Product Design A Level

Students will work with a range of materials which could include resistant and compliant materials to develop their knowledge and practical skills. Students will be required to submit a design portfolio, manufacture a 3D outcome and sit an external exam. A range of topic will be covered which include environmental sustainability of products, consumer safety, processes and procedures of commercial production and manufacture. Unit 1: (PROD1) Materials, Components and Application Unit 2: (PROD2) Learning through Designing and Making (Can work with wood, metal, plastic, Textiles, Card,) Unit 3: (PROD3) Design and Manufacture Unit 4: (PROD4) Design and Making Practice
